Humility Home Art Collection (2012-2014)

The Humility Home Art Collection, started on reserve in the subarctic of Ontario in my last year teaching there. It was completed a year or two after my return to southern Ontario. While in the north I appropriated images I saw on the internet from the art world in the south. I copied them on canvas board and painted in oil. Thrifted frames are used permanently in the installation. I taught in a fly-in community in the subarctic of Ontario, Canada, for two years. During the winters there was an ice road to travel for supplies. I enjoyed being close to the land in the way you are in the community and appreciated the difficulties I encountered.
