Humility Home Art Collection (2012-2014)

The Humility Home Art Collection, started on reserve in the subarctic of Ontario in my last year teaching there. It was completed a year or two after my return to southern Ontario. I appropriated images from the internet and from the art world from the south on the internet in the north and painted them in oil on canvas board. Thrifted frames are used permanently in the installation. I taught in a fly-in community in the subarctic of Ontario, Canada, for two years. During the winters there was an ice road to travel for supplies. I enjoyed being close to the land in the way you are in the community and appreciated the difficulties I encountered.
