Acrylic Waste (2019 – ongoing)

This work developed from my Art classroom (see sketchbook pages below). On any given day, I removed whole pieces of dried acrylic (plastic) from student’s palettes. I arranged the pieces in my sketchbook pages. I made marks around the acrylic pieces with soft pencil and paint. I explored this further outside the classroom. Mixing and layering colors and experimenting with pours, textures, and scale.

Acrylic & 6B Pencil on 80lb paper, size varies from 6 x 8 in. to 3 x 7 ft.
