The Art History story taught in Canadian art classrooms reflect histories, stories, that create a narrative, and timeline of the ancient art from parts of Europe, Imperial Court Artists to Art Movements affected by World Wars, and from the art techniques and Popular Culture of New York City, to contemporary artists work using new technologies. It tells a tale of ‘Masters’ which do not include the story of lives lived, cultures, indigenous art, genders, art of the mentally ill, naive art and so much more. ‘Part of the Story’ paints Art History texts found and taught in Canadian high schools and higher education.
