Transience, the nomadic, and nonpermanent, the oddness of settling, is strong when I am living away from my family and my home country of Canada. Staying connected to family and the art world back home online is limited by distance and technology. Just as there are limitations to experiencing and knowing content and context in a new place. It takes time. Humans have always moved. Transience in this sense has occupied my artwork for some time now, and especially when I travelled, lived, and worked in Northern Ontario, Canada, Arabian Gulf, and Eastern Europe.
